Have you just broken up with your partner? Are you wondering how to get your ex back? Almost every adult has experienced some kind of a break up in their life, and most of them end up trying to figure out the best way to move on, rather than looking for a way to get back with their ex. But if you want to do some hard work in saving your relationship, there are a number of options open to you. After all breaking up doesn't mean that you can never get back together.
The truth is in most situations, there's no reason why you can't get an ex back following a break up. However, you'll need a plan of action in order to win him or her back. The initial step is usually to figure out what exactly went wrong, which inevitably caused the break up. Although you can't change the past, analyzing the mistakes you've made previously will help you to develop a better understanding of your partner and help your relationship in the future.
The break up may have occurred due to a single disagreement, or it may have occurred from several occurences that either you or your ex could not cope with. No matter what the cause was which led to the breakup, you might want to discuss the specific reasons in order to deal with any similar scenarios that may occur further down the line. Sure you may be able to win your ex back without these discussions, but if you want to form a sustainable long term relationship, you'll both need to figure out what went wrong to begin with.
The next step in the process is to ensure that you are not coming off as a needy person. Many people may feel like they cannot live without their ex, but making this obvious may not be to your advantage. Instead, you should stay strong, and let your ex see that you are holding up just fine by yourself. If you let everyone around you as self confident and comfortable in your own skin, you'll ultimately have a better chance of getting back together with your ex.
On the flip side deliberately playing hard to get, or attempting to make your ex jealous isn't the best way to behave either. These are actually some of the worst ways of behaving that usually end up backfiring! Going down this route will likely confirm to your ex that he or she made the right decision to break up with you and should move on, as you appear to have already done. Whilst you do want your ex to see that you're coping ok without them, you do not want him or her to get the wrong message and completely move on, if your ultimate purpose is to get back with them.
I'd advise a more balanced approach somewhere in the middle of appearing needy and making your ex jealous. Let your ex see how strong and self confident you are without them. By not appearing too emotionally distraught it is likely your ex will want to get back with you.
